Research Abstract

WHO histological classification of thymic epithelial tumors has been shown to reflect their biological behavior. This study was designed to determine whether WHO histological classification reflects difference of expression of the specific genes
RNAs were obtained from the primary culture of thymomas, and were subjected to the microarray study. RNAs derived from type AB tumor and type B2 tumor were compared. Assay was done twice in 2 independent sets of tumors
There were 333 genes whose expression was more than two times in type B2 tumor than in type AB tumor,,and 395 genes whose expression was more than 2 times in type AB tumor than in type B2 tumor, reproducibly
