Research Abstract

A data about the sailing technique in Edo Period is left as the one like the seaway figure in each place but there is little study of the road on the sea as the course to lump them together.
As for most of the seaway figures which are placarded at the data house and in Museum and so on, the one of which an important harbor in those days is shown by linking it simply only is most.
It analyzed information at the harbor which is mentioned to " the Kokoku Kaigannzu " which is one of the seaway figures in this study, it made sailing information on the Setonaikai in those days clear and it tried comparison with the present chart in the distance between the passage and the main harbor in those days.
Also, it deciphered " the Senchu-Ki " which is one of the literature on the sailing in Edo Period, it made the main harbor and an island and a ledge in it and so on a chart in the plot and it analyzed.
Besides, it collected a various passage figure and a plan in Edo Period and it examined the purpose of the seaway figure in those days of the use and the precision of it in the comparison.
