Research Abstract

ルテニウム酸化物超伝導体Sr_2RuO_4(転移温度はT_c=1.5K)は、電子対の合成スピンがS=1の三重項であると実験的に確実となった。本研究の目的は軌道波動関数も含めた超伝導状態の確定と、スピン三重項の新物理現象の開拓にある。本年度の主な成果は以下のとおり:
(1)π接合による超伝導の奇パリティー性の証明:Sr_2RuO_4と従来型超伝導体AuInとの超伝導接合系において、ループ内の磁場と臨界電流の精密測定から、空間偶奇性(パリティー)が奇であることを証明できた。これはスピン三重項状態の軌道部分の波動関数に要請されるもので、三重項超伝導に対して初めて成し遂げられた成果である。
(2)磁場中でのスピン状態:核磁気共鳴によるRu核のナイトシフトの精密測定を進め、磁場が層に垂直な場合、比較的低磁場で電子対スピンが回転する証拠を得、論文等で発表した。
(3)Sr_2RuO_4とRuの界面超伝導新現象:京大で育成した結晶をNTT物性科学基礎研究所で加工して、Sr_2RuO_4とRu金属の共晶結晶中のRu金属の単一薄片に電極をつけての測定を行った。そしてT_c=3Kの界面超伝導の転移温度よりさらに低温に、時間反転対称性を破るカイラル超伝導の転移温度が存在することを強く示唆する結果を得た。
(4)スピン三重項超伝導の理論の展開:強相関超伝導機構の統一的理解をめざして理論の一層の深化を進めた。特に実験で観測された超音波吸収の大きな異方性が説明出来た。
(5)新酸化物超伝導体の発見:関連の4d・5s電子系の銀の層状酸化物の新超伝導体を発見した。
(6)国際シンポジウムの開催:平成16年10月に京都大学で「スピン三重項超伝導とルテニウム酸化物の物理(STSR2004)」を開催し、本科研費のこれまでの成果を中心に、スピン三重項超伝導に関する専門家の間での共有認識を深めるとともに、(Sr,Ca)_2RuO_4における軌道秩序やSr_3Ru_2O_7のメタ磁性量子臨界現象など、新たな研究が大いに展開しつつあることを確認した。
