Research Abstract	今年度は、光学可視化、分光計測によってレーザー駆動管内加速装置におけるインパルス発生メカニズムに関して詳細に調べるとともに、大出力レーザーを用いた単発インパルス発生実験を行い、成果を得た。光学可視化実験では、レーザーエネルギーが気体に吸収されブラスト波を駆動するプラズマコアの生成を捉えた。それによって、プラズマコアは当初数値シミュレーションで仮定した球形とはかなり異なる形状をなし、レーザー光を前方照射した場合と後方照射した場合でも形状が異なることが確認された。これは、集光点付近のレーザー光パワー密度分布の違いによるものであり、プラズマコアは3μsのレーザーパルス照射時間にビームの入射方向に向かって吸収領域が伝播していくためである。また、ストリーク分光計測により、ArI、ArIIの線スペクトルの時間変化を計測し、プラズマコア中心部の最高温度が3〜5eVであることが確認された。出力380Jの炭酸ガスレーザーを用いて、大気中で1〜3グラムのプロジェクタイルを射出する実験を行い、流体力学的な閉じ込め効果を利用することでインパルスを約2倍に増加させることが可能であることを示した。さらに、無反力ではなくなるが、プロジェクタイル後方に食塩窓を固定して更に閉じ込め効果を高めると、インパルスはさらに倍増した。実験で得られたインパルス(1.3gのプロジェクタイルを160m/sで射出)は、スペースデブリ(宇宙塵)の低軌道への変換にも十分有効な値であり、今後の実用展開に道が開けた。超音速レーザー推進の実証実験の準備として、既存のラム加速器の駆動を火薬駆動からヘリウム駆動に改造し、プロジェクタイル射出性能実験を行い、3gのプロジェクタイルを700m/sで射出することが出来た。レーザーアブレーションを利用したインパルス生成では、雰囲気圧力の影響が大きく、現在それを詳細に調べ、来年度の自由飛行におけるレーザーインパルス発生実証実験の最終準備に掛かっている。
