Research Abstract

My research work at Osaka Unversity has led so far to :
- a book chapter on the ontological status of probability in medical diagnostic automated systems, for a book at Editions Materiologiques (accepted with a request for minor modifications).
- an article on the ontology of Newtonian forces, with Riichiro Mizoguchi and Robert Rovetto from JAIST (Ishikawa), submitted to FOIS conference (Formal Ontology in Information Science)
- an article on the ontology of cardiovascular diseases, with Arnaud Rosier, Jean-François Ethier and Anita Burgun from INSERM (Paris) (submitted to FOIS conference)
- revisions of a collaborative article (directed by Jean-François Ethier) about medical primary care data interoperability (journal Methods of Information in Medicine, request for minor modifications).

Current Status of Research Progress
Current Status of Research Progress

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

I had a productive research activity and managed to submit several papers on a variety of topics in a short time.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

- Clarifying the ontological status of physical causation, with an analysis of causality independent of reference frames.
- Investigating the compatibility between two models of disease : the River-Flow Model and the Ontology for General Medical Science.
- Clarifying the ontological status of Medical probabilities.
- Clarifying the connections between the Ontology of risk and the Ontology of disease.
- Editorial project on the philosophy of nudges.
