Research Abstract	本研究での目的は、(1)極限的超短パルスの発生、(2)超短パルス特性の新計測法の開発、(3)遷移状態分光法の確立、(4)物質・超短パルス相互作用の解明の4点である。 (1)これまで非平行パラメトリック増幅(NOPA)法を用いて、3.9フェムト秒の最短光パルスを発生させてきているが、新たに開発された広帯域位相整合結晶を用いた広帯域光発生に着手した。この新物質の広帯域特性を用いることで、これまでの手法を応用して更なる短パルス発生が可能であることが明らかになってきた。また、複数のNOPA装置を組み合わせ、実効的な位相整合領域を広げることによる超広帯域発生を試みている。 (2)5フェムト秒以下の超短光パルスでは強度の時間変化だけでなく、その絶対位相を確定することが重要となる。これまでにこの絶対位相をロックした光発生とその計測に成功しているが、さらにこれを進めて、高速な測定法と組み合わせたフィードバック法などを用いて、レーザーの動的な最適化安定化を図る方法を開発してい<。 (3)種々の物質、高分子や色素分子などに対して、上記の超短光パルスを用いた時間分解分光を行った。特にアゾベンゼンやバクテリオロドプシンの光異性化に伴う構造変化の遷移状態での分子振動の変化を観測できたのは、特筆すべきことである。 (4)現在、超短パルスを用いたTHz光発生を行っている。これまでの数百フェムト秒領域の光励起の場合に比べて、広帯域THz光発生が期待されるが、これを実験的に検証中である。
