Research Abstract	基線長300mの重力波検出用レーザー干渉計TAMA300の性能向上をめざして調整・改良を進めるとともに、運転が始まった米国LIGO干渉計群や独英GEO600干渉計との同時観測運転を行って銀河系近傍の重力波探査を実施した。具体的には、1 平成13年度後半に導入したリサイクリングシステム込みのTAMA300の調整・改良を進め、当面の目標であったシステム導入前の感度レベルを再現したのち、リサイクリング導入の効果として高周波域で感度の向上が達成された。また、これに関連して、レーザー光源部の周波数および強度の安定度を強化した。 2 干渉計の長期運転に備えて、調整箇所各部の自動化を進めた。また一部のデジタル化も開始した。 3 米国LIGO干渉計群および独英GEO600干渉計との同時観測を実施した。まず8月末に数日間の試験観測を行い、次に2月中旬から2ヶ月間の同時観測を実施している。これは世界で初めての本格的な重力波探査観測で、将来の国際観測網形成への第一歩となった。 4 観測データの解析としては、連星合体だけでなく合体後の準固有振動に対する解析アルゴリズムの開発や同時観測データの解析準備を行っている。また、観測中の実時間モニター用データ解析も整備した。 5 これらに並行して、低周波防振SASのTAMA300への導入準備も進めている。
