Research Abstract |
This series of studies aims to develop the community support systems for the elderly from the viewpoint of sustainable living on their own home and community. Cooperating with the experts of architectural planning, city planning and public health system, we got the some many important results as follows. 1) Some detailed investigation research works about the daily living of the elderly who live in their own home at rural area, urban area and new-town area were undertaken. Some main types of daily living of the elderly were extracted and the supporting conditions for sustainable living were pointed out. 2) Some many detailed investigation research works about the actual situation of daily living activities of the elderly who live in the nursing home, group-home for the dementia and sheltered housing were undertaken. We suggested some points how to plan and design the elderly' s facilities. 3) By the observation works focusing on the elderly `s activities at the day service centers, we proposed the basic architectural planning models and space compositions of the day service center related with the major activity program. 4) The sensation of health and worth living of the elderly was analyzed and the meanings of the sustainable living at the community were discussed.
