Research Abstract |
1)Based on the study of Cepada (1995), we conducted pilot survey in the starting point. As a result, we confirmed that following texts will be appropriete for our research : ea sunt Demanda do Santo Graal, A vida e feitos de Julio Cesar, Livro de Josep Abaramatia and Historia de Vespasiano. 2)Through the investigation at Lisbon National Library in Portugal, done at the end of 2003, we could clarify the points which were not clear in the fac-simile edition of Historia de Vespasiano printed in 1496. Besides, the Spanish edition of the text and Livro de Marco Paulo, Portuguese translation through Latin were collected. 3)As for Demanda do Santo Graal, we made contrast table between old French original, prepared by Bogdanow, and medieval Portuguese translation. Through systematic comparison of this table, we examined and analyzed characteristic language of the text. 4)As for Historia de Vespasiano, language characteristics were analyzed, and we tried to make comparison with the text which is close to the Spanish original. Though it doesn't reach systematic comparison, we found some characteristics, suggesting later date of translation than traditionally supposed.
