| Research Abstract |
Banach空間のノルムの構造或いはその性質の研究は、今までに、単位球の丸さの概念、即ち、狭義凸性(strictly convex)や一様凸性(uniformly convex)等の概念として、多くの研究者によって研究され、色々な分野で応用されてきた。この研究では、特に、absolute normによって定義されるBanach空間を取り上げ、次の結果を得た。
(1)C^2上のabsolute normと凸関数の関係を詳細に調べることにより、ψ-直和の概念を導入し、その構造を調べた。特に、ψ-直和が狭義凸になるための同値条件、一様凸になるための同値条件をそれぞれ求めた。
(2)C^n上のabsolute normによる空間がsmoothになるための必要かつ十分条件を求めた。更に、ψ-直和のsmoothであるための同値条件を求めた。
(3)R^2上のabsoluteノルムに対して、James定数の計算に成功し、その応用として、Lorenz空間のJames定数を計算した。
(4)ψ-直和のuniform nonsquarenessの特徴付けを行った。また、n個のBanach空間のψ-直和のuniform nonsquarenessを調べている。
更に、c_p(Schatten p-class operator)、非可換積分空間やBanach関数空間などにおけるClarkson不等式の単純な証明を考察するとともに、Clarkson型不等式が成立するBanach空間とNJ定数の関係を考察する問題は今後の新たな課題として、考察することとしたい。
