空間生態学の展開:時間空間ダイナミックスの数理的研究

Research Abstract	本研究では、空間データをもとに、土地堆被覆・土地利用の時間変化を地図データとして。空間マルコフモデルにもとづいて、時間空間データより生態系プロセスや人間活動の影響を推定する新しい数理的手法を確立し、生態系変動予測の理論的基盤を整備する。とくに次の3つに焦点をあてる。 [1]空間マルコフモデルにもとづく生態系理論の構築 [2]地理的構造のある生態系における種の共存と空間パターンの研究 [3]空間データによる生態プロセス推定法の開発本年度は、地図データから生態系プロセスを読み取る手法に成果をあげた。パナマのバロコロラド島では1980年代初期から森林の更新や種多様性の解明を目的とした大面積調査が続けられている。Steve Hubbell教授(Georgia大学)のグループとの共同研究で、12年間にわたる植生高の空間データの時系列を解析する。調査区を約2000個の5×5m方形区(サイト)に格子状に区切り、最大樹高データをもとに各サイトを「ギャップ」と「林冠」に分け、それらの空間パターンの変遷を説明するマルコフ遷移格子モデルを構築した.時間空間変動データの解析により、「林冠」サイトから「ギャップ」サイトへの変化速度や逆向き(修復過程)の速度は、隣接するサイトの状態に強く依存することを特定した.その結果空間パターンはランダムではなくギャップが集中したものになる。この論文はJournal of Theoretical Biologyに投稿した(佐竹暁子、箱山洋、Steve Hubbellとの共著、論文は審査中)。来年度は、ランダムな地理的変動のモデルにおける共存・進化の理論的研究について集中的に取り組みたい。
