Outline of Annual Research Achievements

バイオエネルギー生産に適した混合藻類コンソーシアのスクリーニングと回収藻類からの水素およびメタン生成特性の特徴づけおよび条件検討を中心として取り組んだ。まず、環境中から増殖速度の高いコンソーシアが選別され、それらはScenedesmusおよびChlorela speciesが優勢であった。得られたバイオマスから処理なしの中温発酵を検討し、水素発酵は困難であり、メタン生産も5%程度の少ない収率でしか転換できないことから、可溶化・糖化の前処理が必要であることが示された。次に55℃での検討を行ったところ、水素およびメタン両方の転換が可能であることが示唆された。さらに、超音波や電気分解等の前処理の検討を行い、電気分解前処理を施した系で、処理なしの場合の6倍以上の水素収率を得ることが確認された。またこの時には、バイオマス中の炭水化物の約80%が分解され、効率よく水素へ変換されていることがわかった。

研究の進捗度合いとしては、当初計画よりも遅れているものの、論文としての成果発表はすでに多く達成できているので、総合的には概ね順調と判断した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今年度の残り4ヶ月という限定された期間を考慮し、初期に計画していたCO2を溶解したメタン発酵消化液を原料としたときの混合培養藻類細胞の増殖特性とバイオマスの組成の特徴づけを行う。また、藻類細胞の油脂蓄積能およびその抽出方法の最適化を行う。成果は1-2編の論文としてまとめ、投稿することを目標とする。

前項で国際共著論文となっている論文執筆に関して、共同の分析・解析を行った。
