Outline of Annual Research Achievements

In this 1st academical year (from 4/2015 to 3/2016), the following main things were done:
1- Writing and publishing papers (2 journals, 6 conferences)
2- Participating in the development of the robot KOBIAN (head, hand) for the year 2015
3- Visit to Aalborg University (Denmark) and to Osaka University for collaborations
4- Italy-Japan Workshop hosting in Waseda

Current Status of Research Progress
Current Status of Research Progress

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

Approximately half of the topics of the original plan have been researched and published.
In this academic year, 2 journal and 6 conference papers were published containing the name "JSPS" in the acknowledgements.
Additionally, new ideas stimulated during research activities in 2015 prompted the planning of new experiments to be run in 2016.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

During 2016, the original plan of research will be integrated with the experience made in 2015 and completed. In this broad scope, the main focus will be on:
1- Uncanny Valley
2- Physical interaction (hugging)
3- Robot design for security, for guidance and for assistance
