Research Abstract |
This research aims to develop advanced electrical control technologies which can be realized only by EV (PEV,HEV and FCEV....), and to make actual vehicles which have superior drivability and energy efficiency. Electric vehicle has three advantages comparing to Engine vehicle, i.e., (1)Torque response is very fast. (2)We can know the generated motor torque easily, and (3)Distributed installation of motors is possible. We made a new vehicle "CADWELL EV" driven by voltage source type BLDC motor to investigate such advantages, and performed detailed and actual experiments. In actuality, (A)Detailed experiments using UOT March II Principle of adhesion control between tire and road surface was investigated and generalized. Body slip angle estimation has been improved. UOT March II has the optical vehicle speed sensor, yaw-rate sensor and acceleration sensors. They were used in experiments successfully. (B)Adhesion control by the New Vehicle "CADWELL" To improve adhesion, it is effective to realize the characteristics of separately wound DC Motor. "CADWELL" aims to realize this characteristic by using BLDC motor. It was completed in October,2004, and has been often redesigned. Finally, superior performance of the proposed method was proved. In parallel, basic experimental study using MG set was performed.
