Research Abstract |
We described the fabrication of a pervaporation membrane reactor for the esterification reaction in order to shift the equilibrium in favor of the ester formation and to improve the conversion of the reaction and a novel pervaporation catalytic membrane reactor for the epoxidation of ally chloride by TS-1 membranes. We have reported the performance of zeolitic membranes and carbon membranes which are the most favorable one for pervaporation. Here, we reported on the hydrothermal synthesis of zeolite MOR, BEA and TS-1 membranes and their pervaporation properties. Synthetic parameters such as the reaction time, temperature, molar ratio of the starting gel, aging, and seed coating were investigated in order to optimize the pervaporation performance of the membrane. Molecular sieve carbon membranes derived from phenolic resin and lignin derivatives were also reported.
