Research Abstract

The first aim of this study was construction and administration of a database of the information when and where an individual work of Japanese art was exhibited, and developing a method of transmitting contents of the database through internet Many works of Japanese art are not always exhibited because materials of the mare weak. The information when and where individual work of Japanese art is exhibited is needed by researchers of Japanese art. Furthermore, investigators added data when and where an individual work was exhibited in the past of the past to a database.
The second aim is a study on the history of connection between people and art in modern times Japan. Investigators used the data of history of exhibition and possession of an individual work, and made clear that sense of values of people for Japanese art changed after the World War II.
