| Research Abstract |
1、特許法の試験例外は永続的なイノベーション競争の文脈では研究開発を促す効果があることを示す研究成果をまとめて("Economics of Research Exemption"with Reiko Aoki, IIR Working Paper#06-04)。
2、標準にかかる特許プールへの競争政策の在り方を研究し、公正取引委員会の競争政策研究センター報告書(『技術標準と競争政策:コンソーシアム型技術標準に焦点を当てて』)をとりまとめた。この研究は、公正取引委員会のガイドライン(「規格の標準化に伴うパテント・プール形成などに関する独占禁止法の考えから」、2005年7月)にも活用された。
3、論文"How do the speed, science linkage, focus and new entry matter in IT inventions?"が、"Economics and Management Perspectives on Intellectual Property Rights"(2006)に出版された。この研究は、企業の研究のスピードと科学知識の活用は、特許の質と量の両面で研究開発成果を有意に高める等を実証的に見出している。
4、"Determinants of High-royalty Contracts and the Impact of Stronger Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in Japan"が、Journal of the Japanese and International Economies(2005)に掲載された。この研究では、日本の知的財産権保護の強化が、1990年代の後半に、特許が研究開発の専有可能性に於いて重要な産業で、高ロイアルティー・レート契約の割合を高めていることを見出している。
