| Research Abstract |
This research suited drawing a new Omi merchant image by analyzing the Hino merchants belonging to a type which is different in the Hachiman merchants or the Gokasho merchants. The Hino merchants performed not only a mere goods sale but the drug industry and brewing industry. They established many branches in the Japan whole country, were connected with the strong solidarity by the Hino merchant association, and were doing each active conduct of business.
In this research investigation, I investigated the Hino merchant's Shono family, took a photograph and printed and decoded those historical records. And the analysis was conducted in detail and it collected into the paper. The archives in Hino-cho also took the photograph of Omi merchant historical records, and I walked along it and travelled the area within Hino-cho. information on the inspection of Omi merchant historical records or historical records was acquired at the Gumma prefectural archives, the Saitama prefectural archives, the Tochigi prefectural archives, etc. Furthermore, it called on the posterity of the Omi merchant who is performing the present brewing industry in Tochigi Prefecture, Gumma Prefecture, and Saitama Prefecture, and listening comprehension investigation etc. was conducted. In the library of every place, the copy of Omi merchant reference which marched out to Kanto was also performed, and information was collected.
Thus, I arranged collection historical records and advanced analysis while I went investigation in piles. And various new facts which are in "The Omi Hino Merchant's Business History" which is a report were clarified. The contents consisted of each chapter of "Omi Merchant and Hino Merchant", "Omi Merchant's Management and Diffusion of Risks", "Omi Merchant's Modernization", "The Family Business and Employee of Shono Family", "The Employee and Salery in Omi Hino Merchant Shono Family", "Employment System of the Shono Family in Modernization", "The Family Rules and Store Rules of the Shono Family in Meiji Era", "Omi Hino Merchant Bibliography", and "Omi Hino Merchant Historical Records."
