Research Abstract

The purpose of this study was to seek features of learners' beliefs on writing. Specifically, the study focused on the ways and factors of change from negative beliefs to positive ones.
First of all, we made a model of a belief system which functions as basic part of writing skills. Then, based on the model, we took a questionnaire and described the features of learners' beliefs by analyzing the answers.
The following results were obtained :
1)We took data on the stages of forming negative beliefs and positive beliefs.
And we proved that the formation factors of learners' beliefs were ambiguous.
2)We took basic data which showed that at different developmental stages, consciousness of genres was developed metaconsciously.
3)It was clear that teachers' and school's teaching plans had a direct influence on learners' beliefs.
