量子最適化計算の拡張定式化による新基軸確立とその古典・量子計算両面での問題解決

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2016年度の研究では、研究代表者の今井と研究協力者が取組んできたIsingモデルの分配関数計算に関して、FPTアルゴリズムを構成した論文が採択された。量子測定計算とIsingモデルの関係については既に成果を得ていたところであるが、本研究での拡張定式化の研究の過程で0-1整数計画からOrdered Binary Decision Diagram (OBDD)、グラフのランク分解、さらに枝分解へと展開させて得られている。このアプローチをIsingモデルと密接な関係があるIceモデルの分配関数計算へと発展させ、国際会議で論文を発表した。Iceモデルの拡張である点モデルと、絡み目のJones多項式、Isingモデルの拡張であるPottsモデルとの関係を通して、これらの分配関数計算の加法的近似を実現する量子アルゴリズムの新たな解釈を研究しているところである。これらの特殊な場合であるBirkoff凸多面体の拡張定式化の拡張についても引き続いて成果発表を目指す。
研究組織の他メンバとも連携し、量子回路研究を軸に、理論・実際的な両面からの研究や量子情報からの分散量子計算といった量子計算やエンタングルメントを用いた量子通信の研究、そして新規量子アルゴリズムの開拓を行っている。具体的成果の典型として、これまでLe Gall連携研究者と研究協力者(代表者研究室メンバ)が取組んできた量子アルゴリズム研究の成果である3角形発見という基礎的問題を軸として、量子ウォークを精緻化した疎グラフの場合での効率的な量子アルゴリズム設計のための理論、マルチパーティ通信量という新たな尺度、さらに分散計算側面を加味したアルゴリズム成果を国際会議・ジャーナルで発表公開した。

Reason

初年度の量子状態のテンソル積の解析から最速の行列乗算の最速古典アルゴリズムを開発することができたように、拡張定式化の研究を通してJones多項式・Pottsモデル分配関数計算に関する量子アルゴリズムで加法的近似精度を達成するものとの関係まで見えてきた。量子情報での成果も含め、研究計画立案時の体制・幅広さ・密な連携が可能なことから実現する方向が見えてきている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

本研究のこれまでの成果を含め、さらに量子最適化に関する古典・量子両面からの近似アルゴリズムの実験的解析を通して、さらに離散最適化での理論へと昇華させていくことを目指すとともに、量子計算の優越性について種々尺度の観点から調べていく。
