Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では(a)近接場円偏光二色性(CD)顕微鏡の拡張と高感度化の取り組み,(b)金属ナノ構造周辺のキラル化学場の解析,(c)不斉化学反応場・不斉化学分析への展開,を計画した。本年度は(a)として,新たな円偏光変調方式の共焦点型顕微鏡への適用に加えて近接場光学顕微鏡へ適用する開発を継続して進めた。また主に共焦点型CD顕微鏡を用いて,物質開発や生命科学の研究者との共同研究を通じて,その応用を拡張した。(b)として,これまでに開発した近接場偏光解析イメージングの手法で,金ナノロッドと直線偏光から,局所的に高い円偏光度の近接場光が発生できることを昨年度までに実験的に見出していたが,理論的解析によりその機構を解明し,成果を取りまとめて論文発表した。ガラス基板上の2次元キラルな金ナノ構造試料のマクロなCDスペクトルについて,測定光の入射方向による差(金属側から入射する時とガラス側から入射する時の差)が,ナノ構造の対称性により大きく異なることを見出していたが,更に様々な条件下での計測と理論解析により,その原因について検討を進めた。(c)として,金ナノ構造を用いた反射型旋光分散解析によるキラル超分子の検出法開発(グラスゴー大学との共同研究)を継続した。非キラル分子NaClO3は安定相でキラルな結晶となるが,その光誘起結晶核生成において,2次元キラル金ナノ構造と直線偏光による励起で,条件により,右手系と左手系の結晶の生成確率が大きく異なる(キラルバイアス)ことを見出した(台湾・国立交通大学との共同研究)。その再現性確認と機構の解析を進めた。2次元キラル金ナノ構造と共存した色素分子からの蛍光が高い円偏光度を示すことを見出し,その起源について解明し,とりまとめて論文発表した。3次元キラル金ナノ微粒子を用いた同様の実験で,極めて高い円偏光度が得られることをも見出しており,再現性の確認を行った。
