Outline of Annual Research Achievements

微細藻類のバイオエネルギー生産の効率化に欠かせない藻類の回収、オイル抽出、残渣処理などバイオ燃料生産の全プロセスの実現に太陽光を直接利用できる光触媒技術を用いることで、微細藻類からの油分抽出の効率化及び残渣のバイオガス変換に着目した太陽光と光触媒を組み合わせた省エネルギー型微細藻類のオイル回収及び残渣からのバイオガス生産システムの構築に向け、研究を進めてきた。
平成29年度は、①可溶化した藻類残渣の水素・メタン発酵の効率化及びバイオエンジニアリング研究を行った。まずは前年度で得られた最適条件における光触媒による藻類の細胞壁の破壊処理方法を用いて、微細藻類に可溶化を行うと同時に藻類バイオオイル(115g/L)を抽出し、低コスト・高効率・省エネルギー技術として確立できた。さらに、可溶化した藻類残渣の水素発酵を行った。リアクターにCPE固定床を設置することによって、通常より3倍も高い水素生成が得られた。水素を取り出された残渣を用いて次のメタン発酵を行い、バイオガス変換量は前処理しない微細藻類の発酵に比べ、メタン生成は5倍も高かった。光触媒前処理による藻類残渣のバイオガス変換促進が実現できた。②微細藻類からオイルの生産、高効率バイオガス生産の全体システムに対しての総合評価を行い、バイオオイルの抽出率は従来より数十倍、バイオガスの転換率は約10倍上がり、太陽光を直接利用できる光触媒技術を用いることで、省エネルギー型微細藻類からの油分抽出の効率化及び残渣のバイオガス変換システムの構築が可能になった。
この一年間の研究成果は国際誌6報登載、特許1報、国際学会7回、国内学会21回、うち招待講演6回の発表実績を得られた。多数の企業が大学の産学連携を通して技術相談を行い、MATを締結した1社の共同研究を行ってきた。
