The project members have accomplished in FY 2017.
1)K.Yoshida: a)Interview with travel agents in Tokyo, b)Collected interview data translation and analysis, c)Theorization and conceptualization of the results, d)Workshop and discussion with experts in Asian history and culture from University of Oregon, e)Meet and discuss with experts of war and tourism at EAJS conference, Lisbon, f)Present results at international conferences and symposium, g)Complete papers for a book chapter and journal articles; 2)H.T.Bui: a)Fieldwork in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi (Army cemetery in the suburb of Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi Turmel, army museum and document center of the museum), b)Fieldwork in Cambodia (The Killing Field in the suburb of Phnom Penh, S21 Prison museum in Phnom Penh, Talk to survivors from the genocide in the S21 museum workshop, c)Conducted a research seminar to share the research findings with faculty and students of Hoa Sen University in Ho Chi Minh City), d)Meet research collaborators and networking e)Meeting expert in dark tourism from Israel in ICOT Conference in Chiang Mai, f)Meet 2 research collaborators in Vietnam (VNU Hanoi and Hoa Sen University, Ho Chi Minh City), g)Complete papers for a book chapter and journal articles; 3)M.Cooper: a)Undertake a sample survey at each site, b)speak to tourists, tour operators, accommodation and food places, local government destination management organizations, c)Complete papers for a book chapter and journal articles; 4)T.Lee: a) Fieldwork in South Korea, b) Complete papers for a book chapter and journal articles
