Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study clarified the dynamics of interagency collaboration in Japanese public sector through case studies in eight fields: child abuse prevention, child development support, juvenile delinquency prevention, public library, labor standard supervision, consumer protection, employment support, and community-based integrated care systems. As a result, it made clear that multiple methods are used in order to effectively promote interagency collaboration in Japanese administration such as the establishment of formal and informal conference bodies, one-stop implementation of relevant organizations, and the creation of rules for sharing roles among relevant organizations. The result of this study was published as a book titled “Interagency Collaboration in the Public Sector,” edited by Masatsugu Ito (Yuuhikaku, February 2019).

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
