Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は超シャロウバンド物質である鉄系超伝導体FeSeに焦点をあて、その新奇な電子状態とBCS-BECクロスオーバー領域にある特異な量子凝縮相の解明を行うことを目的としている。平成27年度の研究では下記の実績を収めた。

1. 化学的圧力を導入した純良単結晶の育成と基底状態制御:　FeSeのSeサイトを等原子価のSで置換したFeSe1-xSx系の単結晶作製に成功し、電子状態を担うFe二次元平面を乱すことなく化学的圧力を導入することで、物理圧力下では不可能であった種々の精密実験が常圧下で可能となった。
2. 強磁場量子振動測定による電子状態の解明:　FeSe1-xSx純良単結晶について、仏国・トゥールーズ強磁場研究所において90 Tまでの超強磁場輸送現象測定を行なった。特に、量子極限に至るまで量子振動を観測することに成功し、そのランダウレベルの解析から電子バンドの一つについて非自明なベリー位相を観測した。これは、この系の秩序相で回転対称性を破った4つのディラック分散をによって理解することができ、特異な電子状態の出現機構に強い制約を課すものである。
3. BCS-BEC クロスオーバー領域の量子凝縮状態の解明:　BCS-BECクロスオーバー領域では、超伝導転移温度以上において前駆電子対が形成されることが理論的に提唱されている。FeSeにおいて磁気トルクおよび熱電係数の精密測定を行なったところ、従来のAslamazov-Lalkin(AL)型では説明できない巨大な超伝導揺らぎが超伝導転移温度の二倍以上にも及ぶ高温まで存在していることが明らかになった。これはFeSeの超シャロウバンドを舞台としてBCS-BECクロスオーバーに起因する前駆電子対が形成されていること強く示すものである。

Reason

本研究では超シャロウバンド物質である鉄系超伝導体FeSeに焦点をあて、
(I) 超シャロウバンド構造の出現機構解明
(II) この特異な電子構造で実現するBCS-BECクロスオーバー領域の量子凝縮相解明
(III) 化学組成や電界による特異な電子状態の制御と、固体電子系初のBCS-BECクロスオーバーの連続制御の実現
を基軸としている。平成27年度の研究において、上記の各項目において重要な研究成果を見出すことに成功した。これらは当初の計画を上回る成果であり、研究は計画以上に進展していると考える。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

極低温・高磁場中での熱輸送測定を通じて、FeSeにおいて明らかになったBCS-BECクロスオーバー領域での量子凝縮状態の特異性、特に、強いスピン偏極がもたらす超伝導相内部での新たな相転移の解明を行う。
