分子性の電子伝達系を用いた水可視光分解システムの構築

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本課題では、分子性の電子伝達系を用いた水可視光分解システムの構築を試みる。その中で、電子伝達剤としてビオローゲンを複数導入したルテニウム錯体を合成し、その光触媒機能評価を行った。犠牲還元剤存在下で可視光照射を行ったところ、本ルテニウム錯体一分子で最高8電子の貯蔵を観測した。また、ビオローゲン一電子還元種の単量体がより選択的に形成される系で、同様に犠牲還元剤存在下で可視光照射を行ったところ、白金コロイドを触媒とする水素生成反応が他の系と比較して、より促進されることを見出した。この結果は、従来より観測されていたビオローゲン一電子還元種の二量体よりも、より負の酸化電位を示す単量体の方が水素生成に大きな駆動力を示すことにより説明された。
一方、ビオローゲン電子伝達系を導入した白金錯体の触媒機能を評価したところ、本錯体はこれまでに例の無い3電子還元種を経由した光水素生成反応を駆動することが明らかとなった。本白金錯体系においても、ビオローゲン一電子還元種の二量体からの水素発生ではなく、さらなる一電子還元過程により生じる化学種によって水素生成が進行することが明らかとなり、ルテニウム錯体の系と同様の挙動を示したといえる。
他方、光増感剤、電子伝達剤、及び水素生成触媒を二相分離型溶液系に溶解させた水可視光分解システムの構築にも取り組んだ。その結果、水素生成触媒の非存在下において、光増感剤から電子伝達剤への相間光電子移動の進行を示唆する結果が得られた。

Reason

当初から予定していた電子伝達剤を導入した光触媒系の構築に成功しただけではなく、二相系光触媒分子システムの構築に不可欠な相間光電子移動系の実現にも至った。以上の点を踏まえ、おおむね順調に進展していると判断できる。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

二相系光触媒分子システムの構築に必要な、光増感剤、水素生成触媒、並びに酸素発生触媒の開発に取り組む。また、本光電子移動系を最も効果的に駆動する光増感剤、電子伝達剤、及び溶媒系の組み合わせを探索する。
