Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本課題では、分子性の電子伝達系を用いた水可視光分解システムの構築を試みた。酸素発生触媒系の開発に関する研究では、新規に開発したルテニウム三核錯体触媒が、光化学的な酸素発生反応に対し触媒回転数(TON = 610)、触媒回転頻度(TOF = 0.90 s-1)と既報の中で最も優れた活性を示すことを明らかにした。次に、 酸素発生初速度の錯体触媒濃度依存性を調べたところ、一次の相関が認められたことから、本ルテニウム三核錯体は律速段階において単一の分子性触媒として酸素を生成していることが明らかとなった。
水素生成触媒については、電子伝達部位であるビオローゲン部位を白金ターピリジン錯体に導入した新規白金ターピリジン誘導体について新規に合成を行い、その光水素発生触媒特性の評価を行った。犠牲還元試薬の存在下光の照射を行ったところ、水素が生成した。12 時間の光水素生成実験の結果得られた触媒回転数(21.5-25.2)は従来の白金ターピリジン誘導体より著しく高く、優れた触媒特性が示された。一方、同様の実験条件において光照射下における吸収スペクトルの時間変化を測定したところブロードな吸収帯の生成が観測され、ビオローゲン部位の電子貯蔵が観測された。その反応機構解析から、本錯体の第一還元電位を駆動力とする二電子還元種からの水素生成は進行せず、後続の光化学過程により生成する三電子還元種が水素生成を駆動するという興味深い知見が得られた。
他方、光増感剤、電子伝達剤、及び水素生成触媒を二相分離型溶液系に溶解させた水可視光分解システムの構築にも前年に引き続き取り組んだ。水相に光増感剤、及び水素生成触媒、並びにイオン液体相に電子伝達剤を溶解した系において、光照射下において水素ガスの生成が認められた。

Reason

水素生成系、酸素発生系について当初の研究計画の通り優れた触媒系の構築に成功している。一方、相分離型の電子伝達系を用いた水可視光分解システムの構築に関しても、半反応ではあるもののその開発に成功している。以上をもっておおむね順調に進展していると判断した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

可視光応答性の向上を期待し、近赤外光駆動の光増感剤の開発を行う。また、分子性カプセルを用いた水素発生系の構築を試みる。一方、二相系水可視光分解システムの効率の大幅な向上を目指す。
