本年度は主に沖縄科学技術大学院大学，神戸学院大学，カリフォルニア大ロサンゼルス校ほかと協力し，沖縄本島および八重山諸島に対する高解像度ダウンスケーリング海洋モデルを開発し，大規模なLagrange中立粒子追跡数値実験を実施した．琉球諸島において実施された漂流ブイ観測や，その他のプラットフォーム観測，および人工衛星データとの詳細な比較を行い，高い精度があることを確認するとともに，黒潮による長距離粒子輸送現象や黒潮反流による黒潮からの離脱などについて解析を行った．その成果は2編の国際ジャーナル論文に取りまとめ，うち1編はJournal of Geophysical Research - Oceansに投稿済みである．また，波－流れ相互作用理論に基づく3次元非定常海浜流の発生機構に関する研究を米国カリフォルニア大ロサンゼルス校に長期滞在して実施し，同じくJournal of Geophysical Research - Oceansに投稿し，掲載へと至った．その他にも，海洋モデルの高度化，物質循環モデルとのカップリングによる栄養塩の鉛直渦輸送，台風通過に伴う黒潮流路変動と瀬戸内海への影響，下水処理水の内湾での分散過程と周辺漁業活動への影響などに関する計9編の国際ジャーナル論文に採択・発行されるなど（業績リスト参照），本基盤B研究およびそれを下敷きとした国際共同研究加速基金研究（15KK0207）は飛躍的な展開を遂げることができたと考えている．
