Outline of Final Research Achievements

We conducted field surveys and literature surveys on land systems and daily interactions in the southern Saharan area including Niger, and the results were collected in 7 peer-reviewed academic papers, 5 editorial books and 20 oral presentations.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

サハラ南縁地域における土地をはじめとした所有の研究を通じて、土地が不可侵の所有物というより他者に負う贈与物であるという事態を解明し、西欧近代的な所有観の限界を明らかにした。またこの研究から「負債」という新たな研究テーマを析出し、国内外の研究者との共同研究を展開する基盤を整備した。
