Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We explored novel emergent quantum properties in complex nanostructures, and exploited their applications. As a major achievement, we discovered that carbon nanotubes with artificially introduced localized exciton states exhibit up-conversion photoluminescence phenomenon efficiently, in which the nanotubes absorb low energy photons and emit high energy photons.
