Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
First, I co-authored a publication (Yoshihara et al., 2017) which investigated the role of kanji on the fundamental unit of language production. We found an effect of script, and to investigate this further three additional (Stroop) experiments were carried out showing that this effect is likely task dependent.
Next, the KINECT as a valid tool to record speech onset latencies was further investigated, this is currently still in progress using a higher sensitivity sensor. Additionally, speech was recorded from low- and high proficient JP-ENG bilinguals, and found evidence of epenthetic vowels for the low proficient group was found (manuscript in preparation)
Lastly, I have visited Prof. Schiller’s lab in Augustus-September 2016. We continued our collaboration and finished two book chapters.
