Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Varve counting down to the varve limit of the SG06 sediment profile is finished. Alongside a new high resolution flood chronology was created (presented at EGU2017). A working version of the new Varve Interpolation Programme has been created, which is superior to the old version in virtually every aspect. The Mondsee chronology for testing has been replaced by Rehwiese and Meerfelder Maar data (both from Germany). Additionally a comparison of event layer distances in the SG06 and SG12 sediment profiles was created to gain an understanding of differential sedimentation in the lake. Results from microfacies analysis of the Late Glacial sediments were published in Nature Scientific Reports and presented at EGU2016 (preliminary results) and AGU2016 (final results).
