超精密X線分光で解き明かす巨大ブラックホールの物質放出によるバリオン加熱経路

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本来の計画は、2016年打ち上げのX線天文衛星 「ひとみ」の機上デジタル処理機器の性能校正やデータ解析を行う予定であったが、同衛星は姿勢系の不具合により、打ち上げ後1ヶ月で観測中止となった。そこで、「ひとみ」衛星の希少なデータを生かしながら、将来衛星計画への展開を見据えた機上デジタル処理の開発に力を注ぐことにした。
将来計画には、「ひとみ」衛星後継機をはじめ、2030年前後に打ち上げ予定の宇宙マイクロ波背景放射観測衛星 LiteBIRD や、次世代赤外線天文衛星 SPICA などがある。これらは、「ひとみ」衛星と同様に、低温検出器を搭載する予定である。低温検出器で検出したデータを処理する軌道上デジタル処理には、共通する機能要求と技術的課題がある。したがって、「ひとみ」衛星の開発資産がそのまま展開できる。
私は、これらの機上デジタル処理器のブレッドボードモデル (BBM) を作成し、そこに「ひとみ」衛星で開発したロジックを搭載して改良することを目標にした基礎的な開発を行った。疑似センサーデータをアナログ処理器が処理後、デジタル処理機器を通り、スペースワイヤー通信を行う。機器への要求を整理し、市販品のボード (Zybo) と拡張ボードで対応できることを示した。機器を準備し、搭載するプログラム開発を行って、初歩的なロジックを動作させるところまで開発を進めた。
また、「ひとみ」衛星で得られたデータを用いた論文に、共著者として参加した。機上デジタル処理機器の開発経験を活かして、高エネルギー側の応答を求めることに寄与し、活動銀河核 NGC1275 とその母銀河団のスペクトルを分離することに成功した。
