In order to make new research for modern Japanese literature, the concept of "Imaginary Energy of Place" brought by landscapes is very important.
Natsume Soseki depicts many landscapes of city Tokyo very skillfully, for example "Slopes and heights" "Up town and down town" "Real and imagination" of Tokyo. We have new experienced of modern novels by gaze the unique descriptions of place.
