大胆なシェイクスヒア翻案で知られる野田秀樹についてのエッセイ‘Hideki Noda: dynamic director'と、英国における‘Japanese Shakespeare'の代表である故・蜷川幸夫氏とのインタビュー‘Interlude: Asian energy versus European rationality: interview with Ninagawa Yukio'の２本が掲載された‘A History of Japanese Theatre' がCambridge University Pressからようやく出版された。加えて、同じく野田秀樹が翻案、静岡舞台芸術センターの宮城聰が演出、私が英訳を担当した『真夏の夜の夢』と3.11後の日本の 社会的状況と演劇表象の関係性を分析した英語論文‘“Thou art translated”: Remapping Hideki Noda and Satoshi Miyagi’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Post-March 11 Japan'が査読付き学術雑誌‘Multicultural Shakespeare: Translation, Appropriation and Performance' Lodz University Press, 2016: 51-72.に掲載された。
上記の英語論文に加えて、日本語論文「野蛮なる新世界：『テンペスト』という帝国の言語、言語の帝国」が『言葉という謎 英米文学・文化のアポリア』に、「撹乱的女性身体：柿喰う客『女体シェイクスピア』試論」が『パフォーマンスと異文化理解』に所収された。
上記に挙げた雑誌論文4本、図書論文3本に加え、‘The Japan Times'と『シアターガイド』への劇評３本、美術展出版カタログ、舞台芸術戯曲、映画の翻訳７本、国際学会英語発表２本から成る合計16本を業績として計上した。

平成28年度の研究業績に見るように、当初の計画通り、おおむね順調に進んでいる。

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
今年度は、７月半ばからフランスのアヴィニヨン・フェスティバル、７月末から８月半ばまでポーランドでのグダンスクで開催されるシェイクスピア国際演劇祭、10月に日本シェイクスピア学会に出席すると同時に、英語にて論文発表を行う予定である。
三年間の総括に当たる今年は、この論文執筆と平行して、「日本」、「アジア」、「ヨーロッパ」におけるシェイクスピア劇の言説と女性表象を中心に分析した書籍'Re-orientating Shakesepare'の出版実現に力を入れる。
並行して、'The Japan Times'などにも引き続き劇評を寄稿し、常に変化し続ける演劇動向に伴走しながら研究活動を行い、Asian Shakespeare Intercultural Archive、Asian Women Performing Arts Collective, Scene-Asiaという私が所属するアーツ・アカデミア・コレクティブにて劇場を始めとする文化施設と大学を始めとする研究・機関の接点をクリティカルかつクリエイティブに模索していく。
