Outline of Final Research Achievements

By examining as many copies of Shakespearean four folios with annotations inscribed by 17th century readers/users as possible, this study has found several characteristics which seem to be there in common among them and constructed a provisional context of the 17th century readership. This provisional context, in turn, has made it available to contextualize the unique example of the reading style the Meisei Copy of the First Folio (MR774) exhibits.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
