Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The research plan is progressing according to the general outline of the research application. A new element, due to my participation in the Santoka activities, is to focus in more detail on the life and works of Santoka, with the goal of translation and publication. There is no delay in publication or research activities. The only difficulty is that international travel has become more expensive than initially conceived. For this reason, my travel plan has been shortened and I am not able to lecture in as many locations as I would wish.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Following the previous fiscal year (FY2015), and interviews with modern Japanese haiku poets with a focus on Santoka. The plan is to build a network for disseminating new academic research and theory on the topic of gendaihaiku and international haiku. In addition, to promote the understanding of modern haiku in foreign countries, and to publish abroad. Also, to make presentations of research results to both domestic and foreign professional circles. As well, to provide historical documentation of the Saikoku Period of Dejima, Nagasaki, as order to provide content to the contemporary period of Japanese poetics.
|
Causes of Carryover |
International travel costs have been, and continue to be, higher than anticipated. Therefore, funds have been drawn from the following fiscal year to cover additional costs.
|
Expenditure Plan for Carryover Budget |
I plan to make one additional international trip for academic research and presentation, and plan to move Y200,000 from FY2017 to cover this budget.
