Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to investigate the test item traits and the participants' cognitive characteristics on photograph-format listening tests. The listening tests and the questionnaire were conducted at National Colleges of Technology. The results of the analysis showed that the number of words was the crucial factor affecting test item difficulty. The primary consideration for the number of words, however, was the relationship with the difficulty of vocabulary. The analysis revealed that relatively easy vocabulary appeared to be used in the case of test items with larger numbers of words.
