Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

高商を個別に考えると共に比較の観点から、個別、差異、多様という諸相をふまえて高商という学知の総体を捉えようとする独自性を示し、外地も含めて高商がどういう圏域においてその意義と機能を考えられるか、正規の学課に加えそれ以外の講習を通して地域にどう貢献をしたのか、実学を旨としつつ教養を習得した実業実学青年がどう養成されたか、彼らがどういうライフヒストリーを生きたのか等をたどり、日本型雇用の典型という終身雇用とは異なる就業動向を生きた青年たちが就いた実務（business）と、彼らを養成した教育をめぐる教養(culture）とを、20世紀東アジアにおける日本の歴史として考え得るとの意義を持つ。
