Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study explores "empire" from an anthropological viewpoint, which had been dealt mainly in the historical studies. I organized symposium on empire and mixed race in 2016 and invited specialists on history of British empire, Japanese empire and the anthropologist who researches a former Japanese colony to discuss the possibility of anthropological approach to empire. The research outcome was published as a special theme "empire and mixed race" in the academic journal on the following year.
