Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was aimed to examine the effectiveness of positive deviance (PD) activities as a community-based public policy. We studied four themes such as groundwater preservation policy with local rule, Minamata disease problem and community development, mountainous rural areas community development cases, and saving medical expenditure cost policy for elderly aged 75 or over. We are concluded that positive deviance action will work rightly for solving the community problems with community network resources in cases of commons problem and local development. Although there are a few exceptions that PD will not be effective as a tool for intervention if there is no communal relationship in the community.
