| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
At the beginning of this research project, the research site was heavily destroyed by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in April 24, 2015. Therefore, together with the already set objectives of assessing the impacts of access to infrastructure on human and community development, additional objective of examining the socioeconomic impacts of the earthquake has been included. Despite the adverse situation in the research site as almost all the houses destroyed and most of the people were living in temporary shelters for more than a year, the research is conducted as per the schedule. The research activities planned for the final year are also completed on timely manner. Hence, all the research objectives are achieved. The main research achievements are summarized as follows.
1. Research outputs were presented at two international conferences in Cuba and Malaysia, and two domestic conferences in Tokyo and Oita.
2. Data collected from the household survey was analyzed and two journal papers are submitted to academic journals.
3. Two journal paper are drafting which will be submitted to suitable academic journals soon.
4. The research output was presented at local level where the household survey was conducted.
