Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research have pursued the key-word of "Audit Quality" using comprehensive research approach such as theoretical, empirical approach. This research project achieved fruitful research results, including 17 academic research papers, 27 academic conference presentations, and 5 books. Especially, the author wants to emphasis that the author have published singly author academic book with 420 pages during the research period.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

度重なる会計不祥事が社会を震撼させている。直近であると、東芝事件は記憶に新しい。本研究は、少しでもこうした会計不祥事の軽減に役立つ企業が開示した財務報告の質をサポートする「監査の質」の向上をいかにして実現するかをも総合的な検討し、社会的な意義が大きい研究である。また、「監査の質」の概念・測定方法・日本市場における現状分析を行ったことで、学術的意義も大きいものであると考えられる。
