| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
１）Phil Withington (2010)のビブリオグラフィに収録された資料のうち、The Early English Books Onlineなどにhtml版が収録されている資料163件を特定した。２）上記163件を取得し、ASCIIテキストファイルに変換した。３）163件ぞれぞれを1文ごとに改行し、ベースとなるデータセットを作成した。４）163件を年代別、ジャンル別に分類し、それぞれデータセットを作成した。５）IBM/SPSS社製アプリケーションTextanalyticsにより、各データセットにおいて語句societyが出現する文を抽出した。６）その結果を簡潔にまとめた論文How to Excavate Treasures from the Early English Books Online? The Term “Society” as an Exampleを執筆し、The University of Sheffield (UK)のThe White Rose DTCにて9月24日に報告した。議論にはPhil Withington, Cathy ShrankJames Shaw, Siobhan Lambert Hurley, Kate Davidsonらが参加し、有意義に意見交換をおこなった。７）Withingtonを東京に一週間招聘し、テキストマイニング関係、および近世英国思想史関係の日本の研究者との意見交換をおこなった。８）Withington(2010)において焦点となっているBarston, The Safeguard of Society(1576)を独自に電子化した。
９）目下、前３項を受け、４）でおこなった作業をやり直している。

シェフィールド大学歴史学部および紀伊国屋書店の便宜供与により、EEBOへのアクセスが早期に確保できたことが最大の理由であると考えられる。

欧州の難民問題が気になるが、第１年度を上回る国際的な意見交換をおこなう。第２年度はワルシャワ（ポーランド）およびシェフィールド（英国）での報告会を予定している。

発注していた洋図書1点の納品が遅れ、第１年度の支払を見送った。
