Outline of Final Research Achievements

We investigated the relationships between attachment and empathy by measuring conscious aspects by questionnaire and unconscious aspects by experiment. For measurement of unconscious aspects of attachment, Implicit Association Test was used, for measurement of unconscious aspects of empathy, Japanese version of MET-CORE2 was developed. It is found that conscious aspects of attachment was strongly related with conscious aspects of empathy, whereas unconscious aspects of attachment was strongly related with unconscious aspects of empathy. And it is also founded that discrepancies between conscious and unconscious aspects have bad influences on social adaptation rather than each conscious or unconscious aspect dose independently.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
