Outline of Annual Research Achievements

ニッケル多孔体とアルミとの反応により金属間化合物を生成させ、アルミニウム中に金属間化合物を分散させた新たな製造プロセスを開発した。ニッケル多孔体とアルミとの反応により生成される粒子状金属間化合物の分散率を制御及びニッケル多孔体の比表面積を変化させ、微細組織制御による最適プロセスの設計指針を提案及び開発された材料の特性評価を行った。
5800m2/m3以上の多孔体を用いた場合含浸反応法(0.1MPa, 1023K, 5min)による作製した複合材料では、金属間合物の平均サイズは30ミクロンであり、面積率は約30%であった。しかし、材料内部には未含浸部による欠陥、凝固欠陥による生じる欠陥が観察された。
未含浸部による欠陥は0.1MPa~0.4MPaまで加圧力を変化させることで未含浸部による生成する欠陥を制御する実験を行った。なお、凝固欠陥を防ぐためには冷却速度を炉冷空冷、強制空冷など制御し、凝固欠陥による内部欠陥を抑える作製条件を構築した。
軽量かつ高比強度、高耐摩耗性を有し、輸送機器の構造用部材(ディスクブレーキロータ、ディーゼルエンジンのピストンヘッドなど)として極めて有用な材料であるため、機械的及び熱評価を行う。機械的特性評価としては硬度試験(HRA)及び摩耗試験、Pin-on Disk試験を行った。ロックウェル硬さの値(45HRA)を得られ、母材と比較して約3倍の値になった。平均摩擦係数は0.44を得られた。更に、レーザフラッシュ法により熱伝導率の測定した結果、112.53W/mKであり、母材であるAC8A合金と比較すると同じ熱伝導率を有することが分かった。
以上の結果から、新しいプロセスによる高熱電率、高硬度及び耐摩耗性を有する材料の開発ができたと考えられる。
