Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Present study aimed at development of techniques to reduce high density-dependent stress and to prevent protozoan diseases in hatchery-reared juvenile chum salmon. Consequently, this study demonstrated that feeding of diet supplemented with linseed oil at 2% for at least successive 14 days reduced high density-dependent stress and prevented protozoan diseases in juveniles. In addition, it was suggested that pituitary-interrenal gland system controled the reduction of high density-dependent stress.
