Outline of Final Research Achievements |
For providing enough parenting programs to those who have difficulty in child raising, we did interviews for health professionals within 5 cities with various population sizes. Providing budgets, professionals for family support and easy accesses parenting program family who are with problems of clinical level. Official statistics for the number of children who were need protection, reported child maltreatment, school absence and delinquency could be effective in showing long term effect of community family intervention. In a city near metropolitan area, 8.3 % of 3-year-old children were within clinical range of mental health problem. In the city, the system is not well arranged to introduce families to adequate parenting programs and the amount of personnel who can provide programs was very small compared to those needed.
