Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study was aimed to establish a gallbladder carcinogenesis mouse model for the risk assessment of the biliary tract carcinogen candidate. In short term experiment, N-methyl-N-formylhydrazine (MFH) increased proliferative activity and the DNA damage in male ICR mouse gallbladder/biliary tract epithelium. Then, two-step gallbladder carcinogenesis experiment using MFH and deoxycholic acid administration to male ICR mice were performed. At the termination, no tumor was observed in the gallbladder/biliary tract histopathologically. Thus, it was revealed that the meddle term MFH-deoxycholic acid exposure to ICR mouse did not have a gallbladder carcinogenic effect.
