Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Lung cancer is the most deadly cancer in Japan. Type-1 immune response play a critical role in anti-tumor response via dendritic cells (DCs). We previously developed type-1 polarized DCs (DC1s), which induced strong anti-tumor effect in various animal tumor models. Here we showed that human DC1s significantly produced chemokines associated with type-1 immune resposnse. Furthermore human DC1s activated NK cells, and suppressed the proliferation of regulatory T cells. DC1s is a promising candidate for combination cancer therapy with currently available drugs.
